Spring is when bucks begin to grow their velvet antlers, which they “mineralize” (harden) later in summer. Spring is also when does are in their third trimester of pregnancy and, later, producing milk for their fawns - milk that’s very nutrient rich, much more so than cow’s milk.

Pregnancy, lactation and antler growth all depend heavily on three things: protein, minerals and vitamins. Take antler growth for example. A velvet antler is about 80% collagen (a protein). A hardened antler is about 45% protein and 55% minerals. While natural sources of these nutrients are usually sufficient for bucks to successfully grow antlers, rarely are they sufficient for bucks to realize as much of their genetic potential for antler size as possible.

When it comes to delivering high protein during the spring and summer, Imperial Whitetail PowerPlant is king! In fact, it produces more high protein tonnage than any competing product ever tested by the Whitetail Institute.
